Frosts up to -48 degrees. Schools closed in Naryn District and Suusamyr
Preschools continue to operate
Due to severe frosts, schools in the Naryn and Jayil districts have suspended their operations. This statement was made by local authorities.
The temperature in Suusamyr in the Chui region drops to -48 degrees at night, while during the day it fluctuates between -33 and -35 degrees. As a result, four educational institutions in the rural area have switched to remote learning.
The head of the region, Azizbek Manapov, stated: “In the conditions of extreme frosts, schools in the villages of Tunak, Suusamyr, Pervomai, and Kozhomkul have been transitioned to an online format for a period of one week.”
The deputy akim of the Naryn district administration, Elvira Janbolotova, noted that the cold weather is expected to last until January 19. Therefore, all 32 schools in the Naryn district will also operate remotely. Preschools, meanwhile, continue their activities.
