ORT-2025. Only 1.7 percent of applicants know the state language at a level below average
According to the Center, the distribution of applicants' knowledge by levels is as follows:
- 23.8% have a high level of language proficiency;
- 52.6% – above average;
- 21.9% – at an average level;
- 1.7% – below average.
Among those who were admitted to grant-based education in 2025, 46% demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the state language, 44% – above average, 9% – at an average level, and 1% – with a level below average.
As for the contract-based education, last year 30% of applicants had a high level of proficiency in the Kyrgyz language, 52% – above average, 16% – at an average level, and 2% – with a level below average.
We remind you that testing in the state language is mandatory for all those wishing to enroll in higher educational institutions of the country, as it helps to determine the level of proficiency in the Kyrgyz language.
The test consists of 50 questions, and when selecting materials, the age of participants and the lexical minimum corresponding to educational programs for schools with Kyrgyz and Russian languages of instruction are taken into account.
According to the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science, the results of the state language test in 2024 and 2025 will not affect the competitive results for admission to universities in Kyrgyzstan.
However, to obtain the National Testing certificate, the results of the main test and subject tests cannot be issued without successfully passing the test in the Kyrgyz language.
