Government Support at a Record Level: The Agricultural Sector Received Over 12 Billion Som

In 2022, the government of Kyrgyzstan significantly increased funding for the agricultural sector, allocating resources for agriculture, processing, and individual entrepreneurs through five state programs. This was reported by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

As noted by the ministry, previously, preferential loans were provided only within the framework of two programs, but by 2025, their number increased to five. These areas include "Agricultural Financing," "Credit for the Agro-Industrial Complex," as well as projects in breeding livestock and seed production.

Out of the 12 billion 242 million soms planned for last year, 11 billion 369 million were used, which is 92.8 percent of the total amount. The "Agricultural Financing - 13" program was fully implemented, and "Credit for the Agro-Industrial Complex" exceeded the plan by 166 percent.

Additionally, within the framework of the State Investment Program, 12 major investment projects are being implemented in the agricultural sector. Of the planned 9 billion 707 million soms, 6 billion 502 million have been utilized, which is 67 percent. There is also a positive trend in capital investments, the level of which has reached 64.6 percent.

The ministry emphasizes that the achieved results in the five priority areas indicate stable and consistent development of the agricultural sector, and the measures of state support have a significant impact on this process.
