After the appeal from the population, a presidential representative arrived at the "Lahore Steel Mills" in Shopokov.
According to the agency's information, the authorized representative of the president in the Chui region, Azamat Osmonov, visited the plant in response to local residents' concerns about the potential negative impact of the enterprise on the ecology and public health.
During the visit, the representative noted existing problems, including smoke emissions and the deterioration of the ecological situation in the area. The inspection revealed that the plant is engaged in metal processing and the production of rebar. Osmonov familiarized himself with the technological processes, energy sources, and the condition of the production facilities, as well as checked compliance with environmental and sanitary standards, including the organization of harmful emissions.
The president's representative emphasized that issues of ecology and public health are among the priorities. He instructed the relevant state services, including environmental and sanitary inspections, to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the plant, assess its activities, and take measures in accordance with the law.
“Based on the results of the inspection, an assessment will be made of the actions or inactions of the responsible organizations, and decisions will be made based on established facts. The implementation of instructions and the results of inspections are under the control of the president's representative office in the Chui region,” the press release noted.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the director of OsOO "LAHORE STEEL MILLS" is Nazir Asim Ahmad Nazir, and the founders are Iqbal Javed, Hussain Sarfraz, and Majid Amir, all of whom are citizens of Pakistan. The main activity of the enterprise is metal processing and coating. The plant was registered on May 27, 2011, and underwent re-registration on October 24 of the same year.
The investors who funded the project are also citizens of Pakistan. In 2011, they began their activities in the field of metal processing on a territory of 4.2 hectares that previously belonged to a sugar factory.
