As of January 1, 2026, there are 578 individuals in the country who have undergone liver transplantation. This was announced on February 24 at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues, where Deputy Minister of Health Bakytbek Kadyraliev spoke.

In his speech, he noted that in 2025, Kyrgyzstan registered 8,555 cases of acute viral hepatitis, which is 117.0 per 100,000 population. In comparison, in 2024, the number of cases reached 21,195 (293.5 per 100,000), indicating a decrease in the overall morbidity rate by 2.4 times.

As for the structure of viral hepatitis, it is as follows:

- Hepatitis A — 8,415 cases (98.6%), of which 90% are children under 14 years old;

- Hepatitis B — 75 cases (0.8%);

- Hepatitis C — 56 cases (0.5%);

- Hepatitis D — 9 cases (0.1%).

Parenteral hepatitis has a chronic course and is associated with a high risk of developing cirrhosis and oncological diseases, which creates a significant burden on the healthcare system.
