In 2025, over 8,500 cases of viral hepatitis were reported in Kyrgyzstan
According to official statistics, the cases of the disease were distributed as follows: hepatitis A — 8,415 cases, hepatitis B — 75, hepatitis C — 56, and hepatitis D — 9.
As of January 1, 2026, the total number of citizens who underwent liver transplantation amounted to 578 people.
Kadyraliev noted that viral hepatitis poses a serious threat that can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer, thereby creating a significant burden on the country's healthcare system.
He also reminded that vaccination against hepatitis B has been included in the National Immunization Calendar of the Kyrgyz Republic since 2002, which has allowed for a 145-fold reduction in morbidity among children. Vaccination for adults began in 2022, and to date, more than 312,000 people have received the first dose of the vaccine.
