On February 19, a seminar dedicated to health and safety prevention issues for schoolchildren was held in Bishkek at School No. 95. The event was organized for deputy directors for educational work and medical staff of schools, as reported by the press service of the city administration.

Experts from the healthcare sector participated in the seminar, including pediatric endocrinologist A. Abikova from the Endocrinology Center of the Ministry of Health, T. Sagynbaeva — head of the medical and psychological assistance department for minors, and L. Mirieva, a doctor from the Bishkek Health Promotion Center.

As part of the city’s health month, aimed at instilling knowledge and skills for a healthy lifestyle among schoolchildren, various sanitary and educational activities are taking place in educational institutions across the capital. These include class hours, lectures, discussions, and video material screenings for students and their parents.

Specialists, including juvenile inspectors and medical workers, participate in these activities, which are aimed at implementing the law "On the Protection of Citizens' Health from the Consequences of Tobacco, Nicotine, and Exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke and Aerosol".

Particular attention is paid to explaining the ban on smoking tobacco and using other smoking products, such as nasvay, hookahs, vapes, and electronic nicotine delivery systems.

Thematic classes on "Prevention of Harmful Habits and Formation of Healthy Lifestyle Skills" and "Why Athletes Do Not Smoke" are organized for elementary and middle school students. Students are also provided with information on the prevention of socially significant diseases, such as diabetes, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, as well as mental disorders and HIV infection.
