Questions of early detection of oncological diseases are becoming increasingly relevant in Kyrgyzstan. This was stated by the director of the National Center for Oncology and Hematology, Nurbek Bukuev, in the program "Elden Sobol" of the Kabar agency.
He noted that overall statistics on the number of patients remain stable.
“In 2008, the population of the country was 5 million people, and now it has exceeded 7 million. The increase in the number of patients is related to population growth. This is observed not only in Kyrgyzstan but also in global practice,” he added.
According to Bukuev, rumors about the inefficiency of the Oncology Center are not true.
“According to the data from the Statistics Committee, the incidence has not increased. The indicators of previous years remain at the current level. Changes relate to methods of diagnosis and detection, which allows diseases to be identified at earlier stages. This creates the impression of an increase in the number of patients. Currently, our center is focused on early detection of diseases, which is our main task,” he clarified.
