The correspondent of Turmush reports that there are about 348–349 doctors working in the region. However, geographical features, a dispersed population, and a lack of stable retention of specialists exacerbate this situation.
Currently, measures are being taken to attract doctors to the region and retain them. Significant attention is being paid to creating favorable living conditions for young professionals, and addressing the housing issue is considered one of the most effective ways.
Conditions Created for Doctors
- In Naryn, a dormitory for 28 places has been opened near the regional hospital.
- In the Ak-Tal district, the construction of a dormitory for doctors for 8 places has been completed.
- In the At-Bashy district, funding for a dormitory for doctors has been provided from a fund that allocated 2 million 800 thousand soms.
- In the Jumgal district, 11 million 48 thousand soms have been allocated for the construction of a dormitory.
Experts are confident that if such support is provided on a permanent basis, it will create conditions for attracting young doctors and their long-term residence in the region.
General Health Indicators in the Naryn Region
Currently, the region has:
- 1 regional hospital,
- 1 regional Family Medicine Center,
- 4 district centers for medical practice,
- 48 family doctor groups,
- 80 feldsher-midwifery points.
- In medical institutions:

“Thus, the demand for medical personnel in the Naryn region remains high. However, with improvements in housing conditions, social support, and material resources, there is an opportunity to reduce the shortage of doctors,” the report notes.
