Doctors successfully removed a foreign body from a child's bronchus in Bishkek
At the National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood (NCPMC) in Bishkek, medical specialists successfully performed an operation to remove a foreign body from a child's airways.
According to the doctors, the incident occurred with a 1-year-old baby who accidentally choked on an unknown object while playing. He began to cough severely and his lips turned blue. Hearing "strange wheezing sounds," the child's mother immediately sought medical help, and the baby was taken to the NCPMC.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the child's condition was assessed as serious, as he was experiencing respiratory failure. An X-ray examination revealed a foreign body in the area of the right main bronchus.
The medical team performed rigid bronchoscopy under general anesthesia and successfully removed the lodged object, which turned out to be a small bead.
At present, the patient's condition is stable, and his breathing has fully recovered.
The operation was carried out by the chief bronchoscopist of the NCPMC K.B. Molodoisaev, head of the emergency surgery department A.Zh. Kadyrkulov, and anesthesiologist A. Batyrbekov. The doctors emphasized that timely medical intervention helped avoid serious consequences.
