The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) reported the reimbursement to pharmacies of 409.7 million soms for medications provided under preferential prescriptions in 2025.

According to the MHIF, thanks to these payments, thousands of citizens of Kyrgyzstan with insurance were able to obtain necessary medications, paying only a portion of their cost.

Furthermore, the fund noted that the prescription of preferential medications is carried out by family doctors solely based on medical indications. Medications are prescribed through electronic prescriptions according to a special directory that includes over 800 items.

The program is available only to citizens with insurance who are registered in the system. Medications can only be obtained at pharmacies that cooperate with the MHIF.

Payment for medications is made partially: the patient covers part of the costs, while the MHIF compensates up to 50% of the drug's cost in the form of a discount.

The MHIF emphasized that such a mechanism makes treatment more accessible and less burdensome for family budgets, allowing patients to adhere to prescribed therapy without interruptions.

In addition, the fund urged citizens to monitor their insurance status and consult family doctors for advice and recommendations on preferential medications.
