In 2025, the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund compensated pharmacies in the amount of 409.7 million soms for medications issued on subsidized prescriptions. This enabled thousands of insured citizens of Kyrgyzstan to receive necessary treatment, paying only a portion of the cost of the medications.
According to information from the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, the prescription of subsidized medications is carried out by family doctors based on medical indications. Prescriptions are issued in electronic format according to a special directory that contains over 800 names of medications.
The program is available exclusively for insured and registered citizens. Medications can be obtained at pharmacies that cooperate with the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund.
Payment for medications is made partially: the patient pays their share, and the Fund covers up to 50% of the cost as a discount. This approach aims to reduce the financial burden on families and allows patients to undergo treatment without interruptions.
The Fund also recommends that citizens regularly check their insurance status and consult family doctors for advice and the prescription of subsidized medications. For any inquiries, the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund's 24-hour hotline is available at 113, where calls are free.
