According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Labor on February 10, in 2025, more than 11,500 citizens utilized prosthetic and orthopedic services.
The Republican Prosthetic and Orthopedic Institution, under the Ministry of Labor, continues its activities aimed at providing citizens with disabilities with modern and high-quality prosthetics and mobility aids.

During the reporting period, the number of people receiving services for the manufacture and repair of prosthetic and orthopedic products, as well as other individual mobility aids, increased by 7% compared to 2024, reaching 11,500 individuals (10,700 individuals in 2024).

The funding for the institution's activities this year amounted to 123.0 million soms, which is 10% more than last year (111.8 million soms). These funds allowed for an increase in the number of service recipients and the implementation of new technologies in the field of prosthetics.

Currently, production modernization is being carried out for a total of 97.8 million soms within the allocated budget. Contracts have been signed in accordance with the KR Law "On State Procurement," and the supply of modern equipment that meets international standards is underway, along with the organization of staff training to operate the new machines.

Additionally, new models of orthopedic footwear and modern types of prosthetics for upper and lower limbs are being developed and improved using advanced technologies that take into account the individual needs of patients. Prosthetists have created the active traction prosthetic "Kibi" and the bionic prosthetic "Indi" from the company "Motornika," a Skolkovo resident, for children for the first time.

From 2023 to 2025, prosthetics for hands "Kibi" and "Indi" were made for 34 children, of which 76% were financed from the republican budget.

Furthermore, within the framework of a cooperation memorandum, there is ongoing collaboration with the Korean laboratory "FabLab," located in Bishkek. As a result of this cooperation, electronic prosthetics for hands were manufactured and provided to two adult citizens.
