Frames, "Primary Care", Digitalization: The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and WHO Aligned Priorities

Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Kanibek Dosmambetov held a meeting with Liviu Vedrasco, the representative of the World Health Organization in the country. During this meeting, the minister confirmed the Ministry of Health's intention to continue strategic cooperation with WHO, which has lasted for over 30 years and significantly impacts the development of Kyrgyzstan's healthcare system.

Discussing the main areas of joint work, the parties touched on important topics such as primary healthcare, workforce development, digitalization of healthcare, emergency preparedness, as well as issues related to antimicrobial resistance and mental health. It is important to note that WHO's recommendations and expertise are actively applied in the development of national programs and legal norms in the field of healthcare.

The Ministry of Health emphasized the significance of the Cooperation Strategy with WHO for 2024–2030 as a basis for planning joint activities, while stressing the need for its adaptation to current challenges and priorities of the healthcare system.

The active role of the Kyrgyz Republic in international and national health events was also discussed. In this context, the parties noted that WHO plays a key role in coordinating partners' efforts and implementing international experience and best practices.

At the end of the meeting, the participants confirmed their readiness to deepen practical cooperation, regularly exchange views, and implement joint initiatives aimed at improving the health of the population and enhancing the efficiency of the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
