Corruption Detected in "Kyrgyzpharmacy": Medicines Purchased at Inflated Prices
The new leadership is headed by Bolot Junusov, who, as the minister noted, was chosen as an experienced manager with no ties to pharmaceutical companies. "The main criterion is the absence of any obligations to drug suppliers. I expect him to create a transparent and effective procurement system free from corrupt schemes," Dosmambetov said.
The minister provided a specific case confirming the existence of corrupt schemes: in December 2025, a contract was signed for the supply of medications worth 123 million soms. The cost of one package was 2,900 soms, while foreign suppliers offered a price that was half as much — 1,490 soms. Bids from more economical suppliers were rejected, and the winning company received nearly the maximum score.
"Such a markup of 100% indicates a likely presence of corruption. We returned the medications and made the purchase directly from the company at the original price," the minister added.
The state enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacy" was established in 2023. At different times, it was headed by: Gulmira Shakirova (April 2023 — January 2024), Suyunbay Aliev (February 2024 — January 2025), and Talant Sultanov (March 2025 — January 2026).
