Scientists named a simple way to quickly reduce anxiety levels
In the experiment, 144 adults with moderate anxiety who were undergoing medication treatment participated. The participants were divided into different groups: one group listened to "pink noise," while the other listened to music with rhythmic auditory stimulation of varying lengths. The anxiety levels and emotional states of the participants were assessed before and after the sessions using standard psychological scales.
The 24-minute session demonstrated the greatest effectiveness. It significantly reduced both psychological and physical manifestations of anxiety and proved to be as effective as longer listening sessions, but much more effective than the 12-minute option. Unlike music without rhythmic stimulation, this method showed noticeable results.
The authors of the study note that this approach could be a useful complement to traditional treatment. Music therapy does not require medication, has virtually no side effects, and can be used for quick anxiety relief in everyday situations.
