On January 28, 2026, during a meeting between the Minister of Health Kanibek Dosmambetov and Professor-Narcologist Zhenishbek Nazaraliev, the opening of a state rehabilitation center for people suffering from drug addiction was announced.
During the discussion, ways to improve the state rehabilitation system for this category of citizens were considered.
The planned institution will be organized based on the existing rehabilitation center for post-stroke patients in the village of Dachnoye in the Alamedin district, where 80 beds will be available. At the same time, rehabilitation for patients with post-stroke conditions will be conducted at the Kyrgyz Scientific Research Institute of Resortology and Restorative Treatment in the village of Vorontsovka, if necessary according to medical indications.
The Minister pointed out the alarming situation with the rise in synthetic drug use among youth, which has already become a threat to national security. The Ministry of Health plans to intensify preventive and rehabilitation work, including cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Education, as well as conducting informational events for students of schools and universities.
Kanibek Dosmambetov emphasized that illegal rehabilitation centers should be unacceptable, and it is necessary to create a transparent and controlled system of state assistance for drug addicts. Currently, a plan of activities for the state anti-drug program for the next five years is being developed, taking into account existing risks.
Professor Zhenishbek Nazaraliev expressed his readiness to support the Ministry of Health in the methodological work of the rehabilitation center and to assist in attracting qualified specialists with practical experience in the field of rehabilitation.
