The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic intends to refuse intermediaries in the procurement of medicines and medical equipment

During the presentation of the new head of the state enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia," Bolot Junusov, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanbek Dosmambetov, highlighted a crucial task for his team – the revision of procurement strategies for medicines and medical equipment. The minister noted that it is necessary to establish direct contacts with reliable manufacturers and eliminate the practice of working with intermediaries.

He also emphasized the inadmissibility of purchasing from so-called "one-day firms," which disappear after fulfilling deliveries, leaving institutions without the necessary service support and guarantees.

Dosmambetov stressed that purchases should be made from reputable global manufacturers who can ensure reliable operation of equipment for at least 15 years. An important aspect of the new strategy will be the transition to procurement based on international non-proprietary names, which will help avoid manipulations and the imposition of certain brands.

“Every tender must meet the real needs of the healthcare system, not the interests of individual companies,” said the minister.
As part of the upcoming reforms, there are also plans to create a centralized service unit for the technical maintenance of medical equipment, as well as to introduce staff medical engineers in the country's hospitals.
