Deputy Prime Minister: Disruptions in Medicines are a Management Failure, There Should be Zero Disruptions by 2026
According to Baisalov, the effectiveness of the healthcare system should be assessed based on real changes felt by patients. "We should not be evaluated based on reports and plans. What matters is how the people feel: are medicines available, can patients receive help from doctors, and is medical equipment functioning?" he noted.
In 2025, the implementation of the state program "Healthy Person - Prosperous Country" continued, along with activities outlined in the Agenda-2030 and the Sustainable Development Goal 3. The healthcare budget increased to 52.4 billion soms, and it is expected to reach at least 130 billion soms by 2030.
Key achievements of the current year, according to the Cabinet, included the construction and major repairs of medical institutions, modernization of infrastructure, procurement of new medical equipment, and development of digital services, as well as the implementation of a strategic medical campus project in Bishkek in accordance with the president's decree.
During the collegium, areas requiring special attention in 2026 were identified, including improving maternal and child health, enhancing the efficiency of hospitals, and ensuring uninterrupted supplies of medicines and accounting for medical equipment.
"Disruptions in the supply of medications are a management failure. By 2026, we must achieve zero tolerance for such situations, especially concerning vital medications," Edil Baisalov concluded.
