"Pharmacies Sell Medicines at Different Prices." A Deputy Proposes to Establish Uniform Prices

At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, Deputy Ilimbek Kubanychbekov noted that in ten different pharmacies, one can find ten different prices for the same medication. He emphasized the need for intervention by the State Antimonopoly Agency in this situation.

According to Kubanychbekov, prices for medications should be unified, as they enter the country at the same cost and are exempt from taxes.

The Director of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation, Zhenaly Orozbaev, reported that there is a list of essential medicines. In case of complaints about price increases, the Antimonopoly Agency, together with the Department of Medicines, conducts inspections and raids.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Benazir Nurlanova added that price regulation is carried out based on an order from the Ministry of Economy, and the Antimonopoly Service has the authority to intervene in situations where prices exceed established norms.
