The Cabinet intends to obtain permission to regulate prices for works and services
Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Benazir Nurlanova noted that if this bill is approved, the state will gain the right to regulate not only prices for socially important goods but also for works and services, the list of which will be established by the government.
According to information, by the end of 2024, tariffs for services will increase by 8.1% compared to the beginning of the year, which has led to an increase in appeals from citizens related to rising prices for certain types of services.
Moreover, the draft law introduces the concept of "profitability." The Deputy Minister emphasized that this will be a more lenient method of state regulation.
“Businesses will be able to set prices for goods, works, and services independently, based on the level of profitability. At the same time, the bill proposes to limit this level to 25% of the cost of goods, works, and services,” she added.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev inquired about which specific services and works would be subject to regulation if the law is passed.
In response, the head of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, Zhenaly Orozbaev, stated that important social services and works, such as the cost of education in universities, will be regulated.
The MP suggested considering the possibility of regulating prices for housing rentals, vehicle towing, as well as for education in schools and kindergartens.
