Gülümkan Kalchaeva, who sells flower seedlings at the central market of the Moscow district in the Chuy region, earns over 100,000 soms monthly.

She has been passionate about floriculture since early childhood.

“I was born in the south, but due to family circumstances, I moved to the village of Belovodskoye. Currently, I live in Poltavka. We have a small greenhouse in our yard where we grow over 30 varieties of flowers. I sell the ready seedlings at the market in Belovodskoye,” she shares.

With the arrival of spring, the flow of customers significantly increases. Seedlings are sold at prices ranging from 600 to 1500 soms. The most in-demand are azalea and camellia seedlings. During the three spring months—March, April, and May—Gülümkan earns about 400,000 soms, allowing her to make over 100,000 soms a month. “My husband and children actively help me with this,” Kalchaeva noted.

Gülümkan plans to expand the greenhouse to create a full-fledged flower garden.

“I hope for support from the ayil okmotu to improve the conditions and infrastructure, which will help in growing flowers,” she stated.

Gülümkan is a mother of four children, and her husband is a farmer. She lives in the village of Poltavka in the Jayil district.
