A discussion arose during the debate on the difficulties related to the use of new Kyrgyz driver's licenses in European countries. Almaz Raimbekov reported that all the noise stemmed from a single incident in Lithuania, where an employee of a private company refused service to a citizen of Kyrgyzstan. According to him, the problem has already been resolved, and the new licenses possess the necessary level of protection.
Raimbekov also claimed that Bolo Ibrahimov had contacted him to clarify the situation; however, the vice-speaker denied this, stating that he had not made such calls.
“Almaz Bolotbekovich allowed himself to evaluate the work of a deputy, which no one has the right to do. I did not call him, as he claims. Moreover, the new national driver's license does not comply with the fourth point of Annex No. 6 of the Vienna Convention. No matter how many excuses you come up with — this is a fact. The sooner you acknowledge it, the sooner we will resolve the issue at hand,” emphasized Ibrahimov.
The deputy added that he managed to find a person whom the agency could not locate for three days in just half an hour, and he helped him get a job in Lithuania. Ibrahimov noted that the actions of the officials require legal assessment.
The meeting was concluded by Torağa Marlen Mamataliyev, who stated that within two days, the relevant state authorities must provide complete and official information regarding this issue.
