Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, held a telephone conversation during which they discussed a number of key issues. This was reported by the press service of the Kyrgyz leader.

During the conversation, the presidents confirmed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations based on the principles of alliance and discussed the implementation of joint initiatives.

The parties noted the high level of political dialogue that is maintained between the states.

Issues related to trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were discussed. The presidents exchanged views on important international topics and emphasized the need for coordination of efforts within the framework of strategic partnership. It was noted that active contacts at the highest level set a positive direction for the work of the governments of both countries.
The conversation between the heads of state coincided with the visit of Marlen Mamataliyev, the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, to Moscow. During his meetings with the heads of the State Duma and the Federation Council, issues regarding increasing trade turnover to $5 billion and the problems of Kyrgyz labor migrants in Russia were discussed.
