The Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO issued a sharp condemnation of the strikes on Iran

The Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization has issued an official statement outlining the threats arising from the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and around Iran. The document expresses serious concern over the sharp increase in tension provoked by the actions of external forces. Representatives of the member states emphasized that military strikes against Iran and attempts to destabilize the situation in this region pose a direct threat to international peace and security.

In its statement, the CSTO PA Council emphasizes that the use of force or threats against sovereign states is absolutely unacceptable. "We consider the use of force inadmissible and call for the resolution of current conflicts exclusively through peaceful means, based on dialogue, mutual respect, and consideration of the interests of all parties in accordance with international norms and the UN Charter," the adopted document states. Parliamentarians urged all involved parties to exercise restraint and immediately refrain from actions that could lead to further deterioration of the situation in the region.

The statement also highlights the importance of the role of the international community in resolving the conflict. The CSTO PA Council appealed to the United Nations and the Security Council to take urgent measures to protect the foundations of global security. The document emphasizes the need to ensure the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Iran. Assembly members expressed full support for the government and people of the Islamic Republic during this difficult time.

In concluding their address, parliamentarians expressed sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives as a result of recent military attacks. The authors of the statement believe that only the resumption of constructive dialogue can provide a legitimate way out of the current crisis. The position of the CSTO remains unchanged: stability in the Middle East is only possible with strict adherence to the UN Charter and respect for the borders of sovereign states.
