The head of the Housing Committee requests to maintain preferences for EAEU citizens regarding their stay in Russia.

Marlen Mamataliyev, who is the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, has sent an appeal to Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of the State Duma, with an urgent request to maintain preferences for citizens of countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union regarding their stay in Russia.

This request arose due to concerns about new migration initiatives proposed by the Russian side.

“We are worried about the new migration proposals aimed at reducing the duration of stay and tightening requirements. We believe it is necessary to preserve the existing preferences for EAEU citizens and ensure the possibility of extending the duration of stay for international freight carriers,” noted the head of the parliament of Kyrgyzstan.

It is worth noting that earlier, Russia tightened the rules for migrants on its territory.

Marlen Mamataliyev is currently in Moscow on his first official visit.
