The head of the Cabinet reminded about the benefits of two megaprojects involving the Kyrgyz Republic.
Key initiatives include the construction project of the railway costing $4.7 billion and the Kambarata HPP-1, which also foresee the involvement of international investors in renewable energy sources.
Kasymaliev noted that the completion of these projects will significantly reduce the electricity shortage, expand production capacities, and enhance the investment appeal of Kyrgyzstan.
At the same time, the new railway will significantly speed up cargo transportation between the East and the West, reducing travel time by a whole week. The Kambarata HPP-1 will contribute to the stable accumulation of water for the Toktogul HPP and provide energy to neighboring countries.
According to the head of the Cabinet, more than 4,000 workers and 5,500 units of equipment are currently involved in the implementation of the projects, with completion scheduled for 2030.
Kyrgyzstan is actively developing renewable energy sources. Agreements have already been signed for the construction of solar power plants with a total capacity of about 6,000 megawatts, and a wind power plant is being built on Issyk-Kul in collaboration with the Russian corporation "Rosatom," with the first phase expected to be launched by the end of 2026 and full completion in 2027.
In his interview, the Prime Minister emphasized that the successful resolution of border issues with neighboring countries has become an important factor for attracting investments, creating safe conditions for international cooperation.
