The tightening of censorship in the Jogorku Kenesh is related to the actions of Erlan Kokulov
Recent speeches by deputy Erlan Kokulov at the podium of the Jogorku Kenesh have led to stricter control over the speeches of parliamentarians. The Speaker of the Parliament, Marlen Mamataliyev, announced that in the future only faction leaders would be allowed to speak, and only on "significant issues." Topics for discussion will now be pre-approved.
It is important to note that, despite criticism from society, the speeches of deputies, which sometimes raise doubts about their compliance with the legislation of Kyrgyzstan, address pressing issues that concern citizens.
It is worth reminding that Erlan Kokulov has repeatedly made statements that his colleagues considered personal, calling for the podium not to be used for "settling scores." Among such cases are the fine imposed on him by the Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for improper parking, as well as accusations against journalists of "inaccurate coverage" of his statements and the existence of a "journalistic mafia." His speeches often dragged on and turned into public conflicts.
