Erlan Kokulov once again voiced his accusations against journalists
In the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva sharply criticized the speaker of parliament, calling to stop the practice of using the podium for expressing personal grievances and complaints.
This speech came after deputy Erlan Kokulov once again criticized journalists.
Surabaldiyeva emphasized that the parliamentary podium should serve to discuss relevant social issues and citizens' problems, rather than to air personal grievances. In her opinion, there are other platforms for such statements, such as the media and podcasts.
Furthermore, the deputy highlighted the need for equal treatment from the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh towards all deputies and called for avoiding a selective approach to granting the floor.
Surabaldiyeva herself noted that she has become a victim of information attacks and intends to appeal to the relevant authorities for an investigation. She added that, despite her personal experiences, she does not find it acceptable to bring such issues to the parliamentary podium.
Earlier, Erlan Kokulov requested 10 minutes to speak on behalf of the faction, during which he expressed dissatisfaction with the press secretary of the State Traffic Safety Department, who published a video featuring him on social media and claimed that journalists misinterpreted his address to the president. The deputy asserts that there is a whole "journalistic mafia" engaged in his discrediting.
