
Negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Ghana took place
Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, held a meeting with Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the head of the foreign ministry of Ghana.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized the significance of this meeting, as it marked the first official visit of the Ghanaian minister to Kyrgyzstan in the entire history of bilateral relations.
During the discussions, the ministers thoroughly examined possible areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Ghana. They noted that in recent years there has been an intensification of contacts and identified key areas for joint work. Special attention was given to interaction within the framework of international organizations, as well as prospects for joint activities in the mining, agricultural, digital sectors, and in the field of medical education.
Both ministers noted that thanks to the reforms being implemented in their countries, political stability and significant economic successes have been achieved.
Additionally, the parties discussed the potential of the transit and logistics sector. Ghana views Kyrgyzstan as an important point for entering the Central Asian market, while Kyrgyzstan sees Ghana as an opportunity to expand its presence in the markets of West Africa.
As a result of the negotiations, the following documents were signed:
• Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations;
• Agreement on the Exemption from Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports.
