At the parliamentary meeting dedicated to issues of agricultural policy, water resources, and ecology, Deputy Tabyldy Muratbekov expressed concerns about the threat to food security due to the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in livestock.

He reported that there have been numerous complaints from residents of rural areas, who have noted an increase in temperature among livestock, refusal to eat, and even cases of animal deaths.

In response, Deputy Minister of Water Management and Agriculture Mirbek Duyyshev stated that there have been no officially registered cases of foot-and-mouth disease in the country. He added that the ministry is already purchasing vaccines to prevent diseases among livestock.

The deputy, in turn, called for the need to provide more comprehensive information about the current situation, indicating that an official directive may be required for the Ministry of Water Management and Agriculture to clarify what measures are being taken to treat animals and prevent diseases.
