He emphasized that the situation with the epizootic is extremely serious, and vaccination is not yielding the expected results.
At a meeting of the committee on agrarian policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Tabildy Muratbekov reported that residents of various districts are complaining about cases of livestock disease with foot-and-mouth disease.
According to the parliamentarian, the animals are exhibiting high temperatures and refusing to eat, which in some cases leads to their death.
Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Mirbek Duyshiev, in turn, stated that the situation with the epizootic is under control.
He added that over the past two years, nine types of vaccines for livestock have been purchased in advance, and there have been no problems with vaccination. Duyshiev also emphasized that no official cases of foot-and-mouth disease have been registered in the country.
However, Deputy Muratbekov disagrees with this opinion.
“You are either mistaken or not in possession of current information. To date, livestock owners report that their animals cannot eat grass and have high temperatures. The situation with foot-and-mouth disease is indeed serious. Vaccination occurs once a year, but according to people, it does not provide the desired effect,” he noted.
