Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Gulya Kozhokulova expressed her position against the initiative to shorten the deadlines for considering citizens' appeals. This statement was made in the context of discussing the draft law "On the Procedure for Considering Citizens' Appeals."

According to the proposal of this draft law, it is planned to reduce the time within which government agencies must respond to citizens' appeals from 14 to 10 working days.

Kozhokulova emphasized that each year there is an increase in the number of complaints from citizens submitted to government institutions.

“Previously, the response time was one month, then it was reduced to 14 days, and now they plan to decrease it to 10. Despite all the talk about digitalization, sometimes government agencies need time to prepare responses or conduct additional checks. If the law is passed, this may lead to government agencies rushing their responses and starting to issue formal replies without conducting proper checks,” the deputy noted.

Gulya Kozhokulova also requested the opinion of the General Prosecutor's Office on this draft law. Deputy Prosecutor General Zalkarbek Aknazarov confirmed that the agency has already prepared a negative conclusion on this document.
