The Smog Problem. A Deputy Proposes Building Modern Smokeless CHP Plants
According to Mavlyanova, simply using smokeless stoves does not yield results at the national level. "We must approach the problem comprehensively. It is important to create conditions for attracting investors, for example, by providing land for the construction of TPPs free of charge. Additionally, new stations should be equipped with modern filters that will prevent air pollution from coal emissions," she added.
The deputy pointed out that Kyrgyzstan extracts a significant amount of coal annually, part of which is exported. She emphasized the importance of a rational policy in the field of solid fuel extraction to ensure a future for the next generations. "Our children should also have resources," noted Mavlyanova.
According to data presented at the meeting, about 4 million tons of coal are extracted in the country each year, of which 2.5 million tons are used for domestic needs, while the remainder is exported.
