At a recent meeting of the parliament, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Mahabat Mavlyanova proposed the idea of introducing smokeless stoves for heating in Kyrgyzstan. According to her, about 70% of homes in the country are heated with coal, which leads to harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

She noted that the National Strategy for Sustainable Development states that by 2040, Kyrgyzstan should become one of the most environmentally friendly countries. To achieve this ambitious goal, it is necessary to organize mass production of smokeless stoves and ensure their accessibility for the population. Although there are already such stoves in the country, their production is limited. The deputy also cited examples from Mongolia and China, where the use of smokeless stoves has significantly reduced smog levels.
