It is worth reminding that Bolot Saginayev had previously called on the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Culture to ban the Kolfest music festival, which takes place in the Issyk-Kul region. He criticized the organizers for promoting LGBT and disrespecting national traditions, claiming that festival participants allowed themselves to wear chapan and kalpak on bare skin.
However, the organizers of Kolfest stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs found no grounds to cancel the festival, as no facts of LGBT promotion or drug use were discovered at the event.
