The deputy claims that this event allegedly contradicts national traditions
At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to science, education, and culture, deputy Bolot Sagynaev expressed concern about the international festival "Kolfest," which took place on Issyk-Kul several years ago. He noted that this event allegedly violates the law prohibiting the promotion of LGBT and harms national values.
The deputy referred to the opinions of local residents and the photo and video materials they provided, which allegedly confirm that festival participants used national clothing but combined it with naked bodies and demonstrated behavior inconsistent with the cultural norms of the region.
Furthermore, according to Sagynaev, the day after the festival ended, used drug syringes were found at the site of the event.
The deputy also mentioned that this year the event is again planned to take place and expressed his categorical disagreement with this. He insists that such festivals should be stopped.
According to information on the official website, KOLFEST is an international music, art, and cultural festival held on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
The festival is scheduled for July 24-26 of this year.
