Athletes had previously addressed the Speaker with numerous questions and proposals regarding the state of affairs in the industry.
Mamataliyev noted that in recent years, special attention has been paid to the development of physical culture and sports, pointing to the construction of many sports facilities with the support of President Sadyr Japarov. However, he stated that existing laws no longer meet modern needs.
He emphasized the importance of joint work and discussion of current issues, noting that no one knows the problems better than the athletes and coaches themselves.
For the stable and systematic development of sports, the Speaker pointed out the need for a clear definition of the powers of agencies and federations, as well as the importance of transparent use of budgetary funds and establishing the volume of state financing.
During the discussion, it was proposed to create a separate law on professional sports, which should take into account the work experience of athletes, ensure their employment after the end of their careers, and provide state support in case of accidents. In addition, the participants of the meeting emphasized the need to develop a clear mechanism for participation in national and international competitions.
Coaches and athletes also made their suggestions, which will be taken into account in the process of developing new legislative initiatives.
