"Europe needs to take its fate into its own hands more than ever," she said, adding that the EU must act as a united entity both within the union and on the global stage to be taken seriously.
Merkel also highlighted the importance of diplomatic efforts with Moscow, while support for Ukraine should remain a priority. She expressed hope that the European Union would act not only as an ally of Kyiv but also as a diplomatic force capable of facilitating the end of the conflict.
It is worth noting that a new round of negotiations between the US, Russia, and Ukraine, which was scheduled to take place in Geneva in early March, has been postponed indefinitely. The reason for this is the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, where Washington is actively involved in Operation "Lion's Roar," aimed at changing the regime in Iran.
