Kazakhstan joined the Council of Peace without financial contributions

Kazakhstan has officially joined the Council of Peace without any mandatory financial contributions, as reported by Erlan Zhetybaev, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to information from Tengrinews.kz.

According to Zhetybaev, joining the Council of Peace fully aligns with Kazakhstan's interests and reflects its foreign policy aimed at developing dialogue, supporting international security, and strengthening multilateral cooperation.

He added that the country's president characterized this initiative as timely, focused on achieving real and operational results. "In our President's opinion, peace should be built not on declarations, but on concrete actions," he noted.

In response to questions about funding, Erlan Zhetybaev emphasized that Kazakhstan made no financial contributions upon joining. "Joining the Council of Peace does not require a mandatory contribution of one billion dollars, as stated in the charter. This is a voluntary right of each participant," he stated.

Zhetybaev also commented on reports about a possible deployment of a Kazakh military contingent to Gaza, urging reliance on official sources. It is emphasized that this concerns humanitarian assistance exclusively.

The country's president, in his speech, confirmed Kazakhstan's readiness to support international stabilizing forces by sending medical units with field hospitals and observers from the civil-military coordination center, noted the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Additionally, Kazakhstan is ready to provide humanitarian assistance in the form of food, allocate 500 educational grants for Palestinian students in Kazakh universities for a period of five years, and share its experience in e-government.

It should be recalled that in February, at the first meeting of the Council of Peace, President Trump expressed gratitude to all participants for their efforts to ensure sustainable stability and recovery in Gaza.

During the presentation of the leaders of the participating countries, Trump noted Kazakhstan as a beautiful and rich country.

It is worth mentioning that in January, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the charter of the Council of Peace, created at the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev previously received an official invitation from Trump to become part of the newly formed Council of Peace for Gaza, and Kazakhstan was offered to be one of its founders.

The Council of Peace, according to Washington's vision, will be responsible for strategic oversight, mobilization of international resources, and monitoring compliance with commitments to peaceful development in Gaza.
