The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Erlan Zhetybaev, stated that the country joined the Council of Peace without any financial obligations. This statement was made during communication with local media.

According to Zhetybaev, the decision to join the Council of Peace fully aligns with Kazakhstan's interests and corresponds to its foreign policy priorities aimed at developing dialogue, strengthening international security, and fostering multilateral cooperation.

“The President of the country characterized this as a timely initiative that will achieve concrete and rapid results. As the head of state noted, peace should be built on practical actions, not on empty declarations,” he added.

When asked about finances, Zhetybaev clarified that Kazakhstan did not contribute any funds upon joining the Council.
“The Republic of Kazakhstan entered the Council of Peace without any financial contributions. The voluntary contribution of $1 billion mentioned in the charter is not mandatory for membership. It is the right of each participant,” emphasized Erlan Zhetybaev.

Regarding rumors about a possible deployment of military contingents to Gaza, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged to refer only to official sources. He noted that it is exclusively about humanitarian assistance.

“The head of state stated that Kazakhstan is ready to support international stabilization forces by sending medical units with a field hospital and observers from the civil-military coordination center,” he noted.

Kazakhstan is also ready to provide humanitarian aid in the form of food, allocate 500 educational grants for Palestinian students in Kazakhstani universities for a period of five years, and share experience in e-government.
It is worth reminding that in February, at the inaugural meeting of the Council of Peace, Donald Trump expressed gratitude to all participants for their contribution to creating sustainable stability and recovery in Gaza. He also described Kazakhstan as a prosperous and rich state.

In January, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, signed the charter of the Council of Peace, which was established at the initiative of Donald Trump.

Previously, Trump sent an official invitation to Tokayev to join the newly formed Council of Peace for Gaza, proposing that Kazakhstan become one of the founding members of this body.

The Council of Peace is expected to be responsible for strategic oversight, mobilization of international resources, and monitoring the fulfillment of commitments for the peaceful development of Gaza.
