The press service of the president announced the appointment of Urmata Asanbaev as the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
It has also been reported that his predecessor, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, no longer holds this position.
Urmata Asanbaev is a master of sports in freestyle wrestling, actively involved in the sports life of Kyrgyzstan. In March 2014, he was mentioned as the senior coach at the youth championship of the country. Previously, he actively competed in martial arts and participated in international competitions in the traditional type of wrestling, kulatuu.
Additionally, Asanbaev headed the directorate for Olympic sports and the organization of sports and mass events "Zhashtyk".
From available sources, it is known that Urmata is the founder and director of a chain of sports nutrition and equipment stores "Imperia Sport", located in Bishkek and other cities in the country.
