According to information provided by the Cabinet of Ministers, the new aircraft are expected to be delivered to Kyrgyzstan by the end of 2026.
Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, stated that the agreements reached are the result of trust-based relationships and a commitment to long-term partnership. He also noted that the use of modern aircraft will elevate the country's civil aviation to a new level.
“Previously, the development of the aviation sector was fragmented due to insufficient government support. However, significant changes have occurred in recent years. The establishment of the State Agency for Civil Aviation, initiated by the president, has opened new horizons for the aviation industry,” added Kasymaliev.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, from 2021 to 2025, the number of passengers at airports increased by 52%, and the number of flights rose by 53%.
Additionally, as a result of inspections by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 2023-2024, it was confirmed that Kyrgyzstan's aviation system meets international standards.
The effectiveness of aviation safety reached 85.76%, significantly exceeding previous indicators.
Government agencies believe that this creates conditions for the potential removal of Kyrgyzstan from the list of countries with low aviation safety levels by the European Union. A final audit by the European Commission is expected soon.
Johan Pelissier, President of Airbus Europe, noted the company's readiness to continue cooperation with Kyrgyzstan for the further development of the aviation sector and the implementation of joint projects.
The aircraft are expected to be used by the national carrier "Asman Airlines," which is a subsidiary of OJSC "Airports of Kyrgyzstan." This will improve conditions for passengers, expand the route network, and strengthen the country's position in the international aviation arena.
