The Ministry of Internal Affairs has decided to withdraw the bill proposing on-site testing of traffic violators using tablets. This was announced by the president's press secretary, Askhat Alagozov.

According to him, this decision was made at the request of President Sadyr Japarov and was a result of criticism from deputies and the public.

The bill proposed that drivers who committed serious violations, such as speeding or driving in the opposite lane, would have to take a test on the inspector's tablet consisting of six questions. In case of failure, the driver's license would be revoked, and they would have to retake the exam.

Recently, this initiative sparked heated discussions in parliament. Deputies expressed concerns that knowledge checks on the roads could lead to traffic jams in cities and increase corruption risks due to the "human factor." They urged the Ministry of Internal Affairs to first complete the digitization of processes and improve the mechanisms for recording violations.
