According to her, current salaries for journalists range from 13,000 to 20,000 soms, with the maximum salary being 30,000 soms.
“These amounts clearly do not contribute to the development of professional journalism. Currently, it increasingly resembles populism and strays from the standards of true journalism, while investigative work is practically disappearing and print publications are closing down. She pointed out the need to elevate journalism to a higher level and to find comprehensive solutions to the pressing issues faced by media workers, including housing and salary increases.
The deputy also emphasized the importance of supporting writers.
