At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Bolot Sagynayev called for attention to the fates of Kyrgyz citizens who are in Russian prisons. He noted that parents whose children are serving sentences abroad often reach out to the deputies.

“Despite the fact that they have committed offenses, it is wrong to leave them without support from the state. If in 2023, 84 people were extradited, by 2025 this number increased to 234. As of March, 81 citizens have already been extradited,” the deputy reported.

Sagynayev also emphasized that some convicted individuals are faced with offers regarding military service, citizenship, or monetary compensation, and many of them, unable to withstand the conditions, agree to such terms. “This is a problem that cannot be ignored. Accelerating the extradition process for citizens serving sentences abroad remains an important task,” he added.

According to him, extradition falls under the jurisdiction of the prosecutor's office, and currently, about 1,100 Kyrgyz citizens are serving sentences in Russia. Sagynayev proposed considering the possibility of establishing a representative office of the General Prosecutor's Office at the Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia.
