Ismanali Joroev, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, expressed his concern regarding the existing barriers that hinder the export of goods from Kyrgyzstan to the EAEU countries. This statement was made at a meeting of the parliamentary committee that deals with issues of finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development.

He noted that while the import of goods into Kyrgyzstan is carried out without significant difficulties, the export of products from Kyrgyz producers faces numerous problems. As an illustration, the deputy pointed to the queues of heavy trucks at the border with Kazakhstan.

Sultan Akhmatov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, added that delays at the border are related to internal issues in Russia and Kazakhstan, which, in turn, complicate the transit process.

He also emphasized that in the event of violations of the requirements and procedures in place within the EAEU, Kyrgyzstan will be ready to defend its interests.

“In that case, we will prepare official letters and send them to the Eurasian Economic Commission,” Akhmatov added.

Additionally, the committee is considering a draft protocol for amendments to the agreement concerning the specifics of criminal and administrative liability for violations of customs legislation of the Customs Union.
