The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has made a statement regarding the citizens of the country located in the regions of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. As reported by the director of the Consular Department of the Ministry, Seitak Jumakadyrov, there have been no registered cases of injuries among Kyrgyz citizens, and no requests for emergency evacuation have been received so far.
In total, about 22 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan reside in this region. The largest number of them is in the United Arab Emirates, where approximately 10 thousand people are concentrated, and in Saudi Arabia, where about 6 thousand pilgrims are performing Umrah. Additionally, significant Kyrgyz diasporas also live in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, each numbering over a thousand people. Around 100 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in Iran and Israel, and their safety remains under control.
The most serious logistical problems have arisen in Dubai and Qatar, where approximately 800 and 1000 people, respectively, have been temporarily blocked. Diplomats in Dubai are working around the clock and have already processed over a thousand inquiries. An important task for them has been negotiations with hotels, as the accommodation periods for 800 Kyrgyz citizens have expired, and the consuls are striving to prevent their eviction until the current situation is resolved. In Qatar and Abu Dhabi, work is being carried out according to a similar scenario, although the accommodation issues there are less acute.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges citizens to remain calm, follow the official instructions of local authorities, and maintain constant communication with the diplomatic missions of Kyrgyzstan.
