In 2025, the Kyrgyz Republic recorded an 11 percent increase in crimes committed by minors. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with science, education, innovation, information technology, culture, sports, and youth affairs.

According to Urmambetov, the total number of crimes among youth in 2025 amounted to 1,814 cases, which is significantly higher compared to 1,640 cases in 2024.

“We have recorded an 11 percent increase. Previously, we only responded to such incidents based on reports from educational institutions. Now, thanks to surveillance cameras, as well as reports from citizens and the media, we can identify more offenses and crimes,” he emphasized.

The Deputy Minister also reported that as part of the "Safe Country" project, the "Safe City" program is being implemented.

“The necessary funds have already been allocated for the installation of 20,000 surveillance cameras across the country. A total of 656 cameras have been installed in 440 schools, and work in this direction continues,” added Oktobyr Urmambetov.
