The CSTO expressed serious concern over the massive strikes on Iran

The CSTO Secretariat made an official statement regarding the recent military actions carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran. The organization expressed deep concern over the news of large-scale airstrikes and reports of civilian casualties.

CSTO representatives noted that the situation carries significant risks for further escalation of the conflict and agree with the critical assessment expressed by the UN Secretary-General. They are convinced that the only acceptable solution to the current crisis is the immediate return of all parties to peaceful negotiations. In their statement, they emphasized the need to resolve the conflict strictly in accordance with international law and the principles of the UN Charter.

It is worth noting that on February 28, a joint air operation by the armed forces of the United States and Israel began, targeting key government facilities and neighborhoods in Tehran. As a result of these attacks, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Pakpour, and the Secretary of the Defense Council Ali Shamkhani were eliminated.

On the morning of March 1, Iranian state media confirmed the deaths of their leaders and announced a 40-day mourning period in the country. At this time, the management of the country has transitioned to temporary bodies, and the international community is increasingly concerned about the potential outbreak of full-scale war in the region.
